Half day workshops are available for prospective parents, new parents, Social Workers and other relevant professionals. These can be delivered in your locality and tailored to suit your group. Currently three workshops are available:
An opportunity to talk about waiting for a child to be identified and placed. What is waiting like? How can you prepare and be ready to go? This workshop allows you to focus on the psychological preparation to adopt and is open to all who are preparing for adoption.
Open to new parents to focus on what it is like having a child or children join your family. What has this meant to you as a couple/individual? How are you coping? This is a space to explore and to be honest about your feelings, also to share with others who are in a similar situation.
This is a workshop designed for Social Workers and other professionals working in the area of adoption. The half day offers staff the opportunity to explore these issues and what they might mean for the new parents using case studies and group activities as well as a presentation.
